Zakiya

I was so excited to be coming home to Philly. We were in my town, so I had to make sure Nichelle had a good time tonight. I couldn’t wait to see Adrienne’s club, and I also wanted to make sure Miles and Kyle and even Mikey got to meet the team and have good seats at the game.

I called Nichelle while in front of Lisa’s house. “Nichelle, I’m picking my sister up now, and we will meet you at your hotel. After our massages we can have lunch at a steakhouse downtown called Del Frisco’s a few blocks away. I heard it is a really good place to go.”

“I didn’t say I wanted steak. I said I wanted a cheesesteak.”

“Oh well, that’s easy. I can get you a cheesesteak from anywhere. I’ll be there in a little bit.”

My nephews met me at the car with hugs and kisses. They both appeared to be a little taller since the last time I saw them.

“Aunt Kiya, we have missed you,” they both sang.

“I’ve missed you more. Look what your auntie was able to get for you.” I gave them Kevin Durant jerseys and tickets to the game.

“Now, if you are really good, Jabril and his teammates might come out and sign your basketballs after the game.”

“Good looking, Zakiya. Do you have any more tickets? My man and his son want to come, too,” Mikey asked.

“No, sorry. I was only able to get these.” That was rude. Here it was I was giving him good seats, and he wanted even more tickets. Typical ungrateful shit, I thought.
